Meet the Staff

Hi! I’m Tara Braucht, owner of Body of Bloomington. I have taken ballet classes since I could walk and after taking ballet, jazz, modern (and pretty much anything dance related I could take) throughout high school and college, I thought I had left my love of dance and fitness for the corporate world. After a few years at a desk, I realized my dream of opening up a completely different type of fitness studio specializing in barre, yoga, and hot yoga, pole fit and a completely different mix of different exercise classes to make fitness fun for everyone. I am so proud to have opened this facility over 6 years ago with the love and support of my family and friends and I hope you will love it as much as I do! If there is anything I can ever do to improve your experience, or if you have any feedback or suggestions, feel free to talk with me anytime! I want coming to Body to be the best part of your day! I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and am a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and am currently working on completing my 500 hour certification. I look forward to guiding you in the perfect yoga class for you- bring awareness to your body and breath through out your practice if it is your first or 500th time on your yoga mat. I have also taken specialized yoga certifications in prenatal, chakra balance, arm balance training and restorative yoga. I am also an AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) certified group fitness instructor, pilates and prenatal pilates accredited, certified PiYo instructor.

My name is Brittany Maubach and I have been a part of the Body team since Body of Bloomington opened back in 2013. Fitness and health have always been a priority to me, and I truly enjoy finding new ways to make workouts fun and exciting.  I fell in love with pole-fitness the very first time I tried it, and I have been challenging myself to learn more ever since.  I also enjoy learning about nutrition, and I am pretty much obsessed with practicing yoga.  My son, daughter, husband and our pets are my whole world, and I love to spend my free time with family and friends. My pole-fit classes offer a fun, non-traditional workout that really focuses on strengthening the upper body and core as well as flexibility and grace.  Be prepared to work muscles that you didn’t even realize that you had, all while listening to great music and learning something new. Come see me soon for a sassy workout that you’ll be telling all of your friends about!

Hi, I’m Carissa Hodgins. My passion for fitness began as a way to manage stress and has now transformed into something I enjoy sharing with others. I was introduced to Yoga in my early teens and continue to find creative low impact forms of exercise. In addition to Yoga, Suspension and Barre have become my favorite classes. I strive to make every class I teach the most entertaining class you’ve ever taken. I try not to take myself seriously so that we can all laugh together. I am an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, an RYT200 Yoga Instructor, and I am currently working towards my Yoga Therapist certification. I also share my life with the most amazing gentlemen, my husband and Doberman. When not exercising, I enjoy baking, reading and traveling to new destinations.

Howdy! My name is Kyli, and I’ve always wanted to run away and join the circus. When I walked into my first pole class in 2014, I got that chance. I’d tried every other sport from soccer to roller derby looking for my perfect fit, but until I found Pole, nothing clicked. I am AFAA certified to lead fitness classes and am a fully certified pole instructor through X-Pert. Teaching Pole and circus classes is my passion, but in my off time I love to hang out with my husband and our fur babies, do missions work through my church, play at the gym, and read comic books and fantasy novels. I fully enjoy being a weirdo. Come and join me for a deliciously fun workout that will make you appreciate all the magical things your body can do for you.

Hi! I’m Alicia Vinson, and I’ll be teaching Pilates at Body of Bloomington. I’m currently PiYo Live certified. When I was in college, I taught many different classes including: Zumba, abs, and strength classes. Teaching is my passion. I love teaching fitness classes, but I also taught special education until I started staying home with my 3 kids. When I’m not working out, I’m enjoying family and friend time.

Chelsea Catt ~
Started attending Yoga classes in 2012.
Wanted to impress everyone with her graceful royal dancer pose.
Was taken aback to find a place where people consistently tell other people that they are enough as is. That we are already good and whole.
Realized that Yoga is much more than impressive poses.
In an academic world of go, go, go; and compete, compete, compete, she found a deep sense of relief in practicing contentment and non-judgement, in taking time to just be silent and move with her breath.
Finding peace
Then life happened: having two babies back to back and taking a leave of absence from her program, learning to sew, learning to bead earrings, crying, losing sleep, changing diapers, raising toddlers. Still a deep longing to practice yoga and share its wonders with others persisted. She finds her practice again. She takes Yoga-Fit trainings. She asks for help because asking for help is good. She re-enrolls in her PhD program—then comes a deep desire to merge her academic pursuits of literacy and language and writing instruction with the tenets of Yoga. She learns of Contemplative Pedagogy, a way of teaching that supplements traditional instruction with meditation, visualization, breathwork, introspection, compassion exercises, and silence.
She integrates contemplative pedagogy into her teaching with the Education Justice Project, a unit of UIUC that offers educational programs at the Danville Correctional Center. Her story is starting to make sense.
She will finish her PhD from the U of I and continue her YogaFit trainings, working towards the 200-hour milestone and register with Yoga Alliance. She is also actively pursuing a group instructor certification through ACE Fitness because movement saved her sanity and, in turn, her dreams, and she is passionate about helping others reify their dreams. In her free time, she enjoys doing Animal Flow workouts, making art, and spending time with her family.
