Meet the Staff

Hi! I’m Tara Braucht, owner of Body of Bloomington. I have taken ballet classes since I could walk and after taking ballet, jazz, modern (and pretty much anything dance related I could take) throughout high school and college, I thought I had left my love of dance and fitness for the corporate world. After a few years at a desk, I realized my dream of opening up a completely different type of fitness studio specializing in barre, yoga, and hot yoga, pole fit and a completely different mix of different exercise classes to make fitness fun for everyone. I am so proud to have opened this facility over 6 years ago with the love and support of my family and friends and I hope you will love it as much as I do! If there is anything I can ever do to improve your experience, or if you have any feedback or suggestions, feel free to talk with me anytime! I want coming to Body to be the best part of your day! I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and am a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and am currently working on completing my 500 hour certification. I look forward to guiding you in the perfect yoga class for you- bring awareness to your body and breath through out your practice if it is your first or 500th time on your yoga mat. I have also taken specialized yoga certifications in prenatal, chakra balance, arm balance training and restorative yoga. I am also an AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) certified group fitness instructor, pilates and prenatal pilates accredited, certified PiYo instructor.

My name is Brittany Maubach and I have been a part of the Body team since Body of Bloomington opened back in 2013. Fitness and health have always been a priority to me, and I truly enjoy finding new ways to make workouts fun and exciting.  I fell in love with pole-fitness the very first time I tried it, and I have been challenging myself to learn more ever since.  I also enjoy learning about nutrition, and I am pretty much obsessed with practicing yoga.  My son, daughter, husband and our pets are my whole world, and I love to spend my free time with family and friends. My pole-fit classes offer a fun, non-traditional workout that really focuses on strengthening the upper body and core as well as flexibility and grace.  Be prepared to work muscles that you didn’t even realize that you had, all while listening to great music and learning something new. Come see me soon for a sassy workout that you’ll be telling all of your friends about!

Hi, I’m Carissa Hodgins. My passion for fitness began as a way to manage stress and has now transformed into something I enjoy sharing with others.  I was introduced to Yoga in my early teens and continue to find creative low impact forms of exercise.  In addition to Yoga, Suspension and Barre have become my favorite classes. I strive to make every class I teach the most entertaining class you’ve ever taken. I try not to take myself seriously so that we can all laugh together. I am an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, an RYT200 Yoga Instructor, and I am currently working towards my Yoga Therapist certification. I also share my life with the most amazing gentlemen, my husband and Doberman. When not exercising, I enjoy baking, reading and traveling to new destinations.

Howdy! My name is Kyli, and I’ve always wanted to run away and join the circus. When I walked into my first pole class in 2014, I got that chance. I’d tried every other sport from soccer to roller derby looking for my perfect fit, but until I found Pole, nothing clicked. I am AFAA certified to lead fitness classes and am a fully certified pole instructor through X-Pert. Teaching Pole and circus classes is my passion, but in my off time I love to hang out with my husband and our fur babies, do missions work through my church, play at the gym, and read comic books and fantasy novels. I fully enjoy being a weirdo. Come and join me for a deliciously fun workout that will make you appreciate all the magical things your body can do for you.

Becky Beucher, has been practicing yoga for over ten years and recently completed her 200 RTY Program with Olivia Rosseau Yoga. She began her disciplined practice following a full year of physical therapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic treatment for sciatica. She was frustrated by her primary care doctor’s initial prescription of pain medication to treat her physical pain and was motivated to learn how she could manage chronic pain with physical activity and breath, which lead her to yoga and other forms of physical exercise. She embraces the eight limbs of yoga, and works to intertwine yoga meditation, mindfulness, discipline, creativity, ethics, and morality into her life and her asana (physical) practice. She embraces energy work and enjoys integrating a creative flow in juxtaposition to sequenced movements in her asana practice. She believes that yoga offers an imaginative space where one can both step outside of and into themselves by letting go in order to create and know something new and perhaps more true. Becky is also an Assistant professor of Secondary Literacy at Illinois State University.

Chelsea Catt, started her yoga journey in 2012 at Body of Bloomington. She came to yoga originally wanting to impress everyone with her graceful dancer pose and was taken aback to fund a space where people are consistently told they are good enough as they are. She fell in love with yoga and the message that we are already good and whole and realized yoga is so much more than impressive poses. From there, she began her yoga certification process through Yoga Fit and continues to take workshops and training’s to increase her teaching toolkit. In her free time, Chelsea is a wife, mother, teacher and is pursuing her PhD at U of I. I am going to add she is also is a VERY talented artist (yes- I wrote that- not Chelsea because she is too modest to say it- but I will!) She is working on some canvases for the studio that I can’t wait to reveal.

Hi! I’m Alicia Vinson, and I’ll be teaching Pilates at Body of Bloomington. I’m currently PiYo Live certified. When I was in college, I taught many different classes including: Zumba, abs, and strength classes. Teaching is my passion. I love teaching fitness classes, but I also taught special education until I started staying home with my 3 kids. When I’m not working out, I’m enjoying family and friend time.
