Body of Bloomington Studio Policies:
By purchasing a class or membership at Body of Bloomington, you agree to accept and abide by all studio policies.
Body of Bloomington does not tolerate hatred. Homophobia, whorephobia, racism, sexism, religious nationalism, fascism, harmful language, body shaming, ageism, ableism, etc...are not behaviors that are welcome at Body. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who threatens the physical, emotional, and mental safety of our staff and clients. Be respectful in our space or you cannot be in our space.
GENERAL POLICIES:
- GUESTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO STAY TO OBSERVE CLASSES.
- WALK-IN POLICY: We do not accept walk-in clients. For inquiries and studio tours, we are open by appointment only. We will not be able to assist you once the class time begins, as we will be teaching. Solicitation is not allowed.
- LATE ARRIVAL: The doors are locked 7 minutes after the start of class time. Late arrivals past 7 minutes will not be permitted to join class without prior approval or extenuating circumstances. Late arrival clients who are permitted to join class accept all liability as a result of missing part of the warmup and are responsible for making sure their body is prepared for class. Late arrivals will not be caught up on missed content and should try and enter class as inconspicuously as possible. You will not be given a refund or permitted to re-schedule your missed class if you arrive past 7 minutes late.
- CLIENT CLASS REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION: Guests are to manage their own class passes, including registrations and cancellations. Class passes can be cancelled up to one-hour before class begins and membership registrations can be cancelled up to the start of class time. No-show passes will be forfeit and no-show membership registrations can incur a late fee. Note: please do not email us to alter your class registration as we may not see it before the start of class. Please log into Momence through your class confirmation email and access your client account to cancel or change your registration.
- NO TOUCHING, NO TEACHING: When you’re in our classes, the instructor is the only person that is permitted to touch and teach clients, regardless of your relationship to the person. It’s a safety hazard and a liability to have an uninsured person trying to do the instructor’s job.
- MUTUAL RESPECT: Bullying and discriminatory language will not be tolerated at our studio. Respect of your classmates and instructor will be expected at all times, as we will be respectful of you. If you have an issue with something or someone in class, please politely and respectfully bring it up to the instructor or owner, and we will see that problems are solved professionally. Conversations should remain appropriate for a public space.
- REFUND POLICY: All services and products purchased from Body of Bloomington are non-refundable unless otherwise noted. If you are outside of Illinois and purchase class passes without realizing we are located in Illinois, you have 1 hour from the time of purchase to contact us to be eligible for a refund. This policy is firm.
- INJURY OR DAMAGE: Before you attend your first class, you will be asked to sign a liability waiver and agreement, which states that you will use all equipment and exercise all movements as instructed. Our certified instructors will teach you everything safely, but ignoring their instruction or misusing equipment and property could lead to injury or property damage, which the client would be liable for. The studio is under video surveillance at all times
- STUDIO CLASS CANCELLATION: If no one is registered 1-hour before the start of the class it may be cancelled.
- WAITLIST: If a class is full and you sign up for the waitlist, please keep an eye on your email and the app, as the system will add you into the class and email you if a space becomes available. By placing yourself on the waitlist, you are committing to paying for and showing up for that spot, should it become available. Clients and members who place themselves on the waitlist, get a spot, and then don't show up are subject to no-show penalities.
- FILMING AND SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY: To protect the safety and privacy of our clients, filming and posting footage of anyone other than yourself is NOT permitted. If anyone is visible in the background at any time and they have not given you express permission, it is a violation of their privacy and our studio's policy to post the footage. The public social media accounts of clients at our studio are checked regularly by our staff to ensure adherence to this policy. if we find you have violated this policy. You will be asked to delete the content. If you do not, you will not be allowed to return to our studio. Please don't disrespect this policy by violating it on private accounts: you are jeopardizing your potential future as a client. Blur them out.
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES:
Please see our Membership page for complete details
- CLASS CANCELLATION: Members can cancel or late cancel their classes at any time without penalty, but there is a penalty for no-shows. After the first no-show of the month, members will be charged a no-show fee of $15 every time it happens. This fee will be charged 24-hours after the end of the class that was no-showed. If you had an emergency, reach out to us within 24-hours to address the issue. We don't like having a penalty fee, but we also don't like having empty spots in classes that have waitlists. Please remember to cancel your classes to avoid this issue; another member would be happy to take your spot.
- MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION: Early contract cancellation: All memberships can be cancelled early for a flat fee of $100. We are unable to make exceptions to this rule. Please understand that the contract is a contract.
- CONTRACT AUTO-RENEWAL: All memberships are contracts and auto-renew every month. Once you've met your contract minimum (3, 6, or 12 months), the app will open the option for you to end your membership. If you do not cancel your membership, it will auto-renew for another month. This means that as soon as your contract minimum is met, your membership is month-to-month and can be cancelled at any time.
- MEMBERSHIP PAUSE: Memberships can be pauswed selectively for up to 1-month. This is done via email, so please reach out to us for a temporary freeze. Exceptions can be made for injury.
INTRO TO POLE POLICIES:
Please see our Intro to Pole page for complete details.
- DEFERMENT AND CANCELLATION: You need to contact us at least 72-hours before the class begins if you need to defer to a later month. If you cannot attend at all, you can transfer the pass to someone else. Refunds will not be given.
- MAKEUP/MISSED CLASSES: Makeups are not given for Intro to Pole. Please make sure you can make it to all sessions, or accept that some will be forfeit.
- NO TOUCHING, NO TEACHING: When you're in our classes, the instructor is the only person that is permitted to touch and teach clients, regardless of your relationship to the person. It's a safety hazard and a liability to have clients trying to do the instructor's job.
- FILMING/ SOCIAL MEDIA: You signed a social media agreement on the first day of class. This means that you agreed to abide by our policy of not posting videos or pictures from class to social media if anyone else is visible in the background or any reflections. This policy applies even if your social media account is set to private. This policy is non-negotiable. Failure to abide will result in swift removal from all classes with no refund. This one sounds harsh, but that's because we want to stress to you how seriously we take your privacy in our space. You can still post all the amazing things you do, just blur out or put stickers over anyone else visible in the video.
- LEVEL-UP: If you're skilled enough to do tougher tricks and/or if you have mastered all of our Intro skills, it is time to move out of Intro. Our Intro to Pole classes are designed specifically to create a safe space for clients who are beginning their pole journeys. It is okay to repeat Intro as many times as needed. but it is not okay to ask your instructor to deviate from the class plan by requesting options that fall outside the scope of an Intro class. You will be provided a range of progressions and regressions during Intro and if those are no longer serving your needs it is time to join the Level 1 classes!
- RESPECT:
- Please don't carry on a conversation while your instructor is teaching. don't come to class inebriated.
- Don't body slam the poles or use them improperly.
- Don't leave your space messy.
- Don't jump into tricks; jumping into tricks results in injuries. We don't want you injured; we want you happy and healthy and on your way to enjoying an amazing injury-free pole journey!
PRIVATE LESSON POLICIES:
- Payment is due upon booking.
- A minimum of 2 hours notice is needed to reschedule. If you don’t show up or notify us of a needed reschedule by the deadline, your lesson will not be rescheduled and your payment will not be refunded.
- Please show up on time. Notify us if you'll be a few minutes late. If you show up late, we do not require our instructors to stay later to accommodate. You booked the originally agreed upon time, showing up late does not change that.
PRIVATE PARTY POLICIES:
- TIME: To be respectful of our instructors and their time, Private Parties must start and end on time. Please do not request extra studio time if you are going to arrive late, and please do not stay past the limit of what you paid for. If you stay more than 5 minutes past your time limit, you will be charged $50 per half hour.
- SAFETY AND INTOXICATION: You may bring snacks and beverages but being intoxicated or inebriated on our premises is not allowed; it is a danger to your safety and to our equipment. If your party gets out of hand, you will be asked to leave with no refund, and if we receive noise complaints from our neighboring business, a $50 inconvenience fee will be charged to your card on file. If you damage our equipment, you will be responsible for paying for or replacing it. Legal action will be taken if this is disputed. We are here to help you have the most fun possible, but our instructors are not there to babysit drunk adults, and they should not be put in the compromising position of allowing drunk adults to get behind the wheel of a car when leaving our studio.
- LAST-MINUTE BOOKING: When booking your party, please give us plenty of advanced notice (a minimum of 10 days is preferred). Parties are scheduled around our active classes, and last minute parties may not be able to be accommodated.
