Body of Bloomington Studio Policies:
General Policies:
- GUESTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO STAY TO OBSERVE POLE CLASSES!
- Clients are NEVER allowed to touch other clients unless permission has been expressly given.
- REFUNDS: All services and products purchased from Body of Bloomington are non-refundable unless otherwise noted.
- INQUIRY AND STUDIO TOURS: For inquiries and studio tours, we are open before and after classes or by appointment only. We will not be able to assist you once the class time begins, as we will be teaching. Solicitation is not allowed.
- INJURY OR DAMAGE: Before you attend your first class, you will be asked to sign a liability waiver and agreement, which states that you will use all equipment and exercise all movements as instructed. Our certified instructors will teach you everything safely, but ignoring their instruction or misusing equipment and property could lead to injury or property damage, which the client would be liable for. The studio is under video surveillance at all times
- MUTUAL RESPECT: Bullying and discriminatory language will not be tolerated at our studio. Respect of your classmates and instructor will be expected at all times, as we will be respectful of you. If you have an issue with something or someone in class, please politely and respectfully bring it up to the instructor or owner, and we will see that problems are solved professionally. Conversations should remain appropriate for a public space.
- CLIENT CLASS CANCELLATION: Please try and cancel your class 4 hours or more before the start of class. Cancelling any later than that can result in the loss of the class pass.
- STUDIO CLASS CANCELLATION:
- Weekend Classes: if no one is registered 1 hour before the start of the class it may be cancelled.
- Weekday classes may be cancelled if no one is registered 30 minutes before the scheduled start of class.
- LATE ARRIVAL: Late arrivals accept all liability as a result of missing part of the warmup and are responsible for making sure their body is prepared for class. Late arrivals will not be caught up on missed content and should try and enter class as inconspicuously as possible. Being chronically late is highly discouraged, and if it becomes a distraction to our classes we will no longer accept late arrivals. We reserve the right to lock the doors 10 minutes into class. If you get locked out due to late arrival, refunds and makeups will not be given. Please show up on time.
- WAITLIST: If a class is full and you sign up for the waitlist, please keep an eye on your email and the app, as the system will add you into the class and email you if a space becomes available. By placing yourself on the waitlist, you are committing to paying for and showing up for that spot, should it become available. Clients and members who place themselves on the waitlist, get a spot, and then don't show up are subject to no-show penalities.
FILMING AND SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY:
- PRIVACY: To protect the safety and privacy of our clients, filming and posting footage of anyone other than yourself is NOT permitted. If anyone is visible in the background at any time and they have not given you express permission, it is a violation of their privacy and our studio's policy to post the footage. The public social media accounts of clients at our studio are checked regularly by our staff to ensure adherence to this policy. if we find you have violated this policy. You will be asked to delete the content. If you do not, you will not be allowed to return to our studio. Please don't disrespect this policy by violating it on private accounts: you are jeopardizing your potential future as a client. Blur them out.
- EXPLICIT CONTENT: If you wish to film content in our studio other than the tricks and combos we teach you here, please be mindful of the fact that we are a studio that also teaches children and teenagers, and posting content filmed at our studio that is overtly graphic and/or sexual is not allowed as it is not only a violation of a morality clause written into our lease but will jeopardize our ability to continue holding classes for children.
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES:
- Memberships get you access to nearly EVERYTHING! This means Intro, group fitness classes, and pole classes! Memberships also get you a discount on Private Lessons. The only things not included in memberships are workshops with guest instructors, like the Carly Child workshops we hosted last year.
- All memberships are contracts and auto-renew every month. Once you've met your contract minimum (3, 6, or 12 months), the app will open the option for you to end your membership. If you do not cancel your membership, it will auto-renew for another month. This means that as soon as your contract minimum is met, your membership is month-to-month and can be cancelled at any time.
- The 3 and 6 month memberships cannot be paused. The Annual membership can only be paused for one month per year, and that month cannot be split up into separate weeks; that throws the system into a tailspin.
- The 3 and 6 month memberships cannot be cancelled prematurely. The Annual 12-month membership has an early cancellation fee of $135 (one month's payment).
PRIVATE LESSON POLICIES:
- All payment is due upon booking.
- We need a minimum of 1 hours notice if you need to reschedule (unless otherwise agreed upon by the owner). if you don't show up or notify us of a needed reschedule by the deadline. your lesson will not be rescheduled and your payment will not be refunded. Please show up on time. Notify us if you will be a few minutes late. If you show up late we do not require our instructors to stay later to accommodate. as you booked the originally agreed upon time and showing up late does not change that. Repeated no-shows will no longer be booked.
- You can request that your lesson be recorded and that a copy be given to you so you can repeat it on your own as you please.
WALK-IN POLICIES:
We really discourage walk-ins in all of our classes and programs for four very specific reasons:
- LIMITED SPACE: Certain classes, like pole, circus, trx, etc. have a limited number of spaces due to limited equipment. If you show up and the class is full, you'll be turned away, which is a bummer for everyone
- SAFETY: New clients need to fill out client profiles, sign safety waivers, sign the social media contract, and be shown around the studio. This all needs to be done before you attend a class with us, so if you show up right before a class starts the instructor runs the risk of having to delay the start of class if they choose to accommodate you, which is something we try to avoid.
- CANCELLATIONS: If you walk in, it means you didn't register through our online schedule, which means that you might miss important information, like class being cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel any classes that have not met the minimum number of registrations, so if we don't know you're coming, we may cancel a class you were looking forward to. It also means you could miss schedule changes, like new class times and offerings. This leads to confusion and miscommunications, which is frustrating for everyone
- CLASS PLAN: Your instructors look at who is coming when they plan class. We make sure to include things we think each of our clients might like as those personal touches are what sets Body apart from other gyms. While we always make sure our plans are flexible, it's nice to know who's coming when we're figuring out what to teach that day. We can't do this if you walk in.
- If you must walk in, here are the terms:
- Walk-ins that arrive less than 10 minutes before the start of the program will not be admitted
- Walk-ins to the leveled pole classes will not be admitted without a demonstration of skill and competence on the pole
- Walk-ins for sold out programs and classes will not be admitted unless they are attempting to waitlist. the walk-in must still show up 10 minutes before the start of the program to introduce themselves to the instructor and inform them of their status as a waitlister.Note: this does not mean the walk-in gets to keep that spot for following weeks.
- Walk-ins that seem murdery will not be admitted
Intro To Pole Policies:
- DEFERMENT AND CANCELLATION: You need to contact us at least 5 days before the class begins if you need to defer to a later month. If you cannot attend at all, you can transfer the pass to someone else. Refunds will not be given
- MAKEUP/MISSED CLASSES: Makeups are not given for intro to pole. Please make sure you can make it to all sessions, or accept that some will be forfeit.
- NO TOUCHING, NO TEACHING: When you're in our classes, the instructor is the only person that is permitted to touch and teach clients, regardless of your relationship to the person. It's a safety hazard and a liability to have clients trying to do the instructor's job.
- FILMING/ SOCIAL MEDIA: You signed a social media agreement on the first day of class. This means that you agreed to abide by our policy of not posting videos or pictures from class to social media if anyone else is visible in the background or any reflections. This policy applies even if your social media account is set to private. This policy is non-negotiable. Failure to abide will result in swift removal from all classes with no refund. This one sounds harsh, but that's because we want to stress to you how seriously we take your privacy in our space. You can still post all the amazing things you do, just blur out or put stickers over anyone else visible in the video.
- LEVEL-UP: If you're skilled enough to do tougher tricks and/or if you have mastered all of our Intro skills, it is time to move out of Intro. Our Intro to Pole classes are designed specifically to create a safe space for clients who are beginning their pole journeys. It is ok to repeat Intro as many times as needed. but it is not ok to ask your instructor to deviate from the class plan by requesting options that fall outside the scope of an Intro class. You will be provided a range of progressions and regressions during Intro and if those are no longer serving your needs it is time to join the Level 1 classes!
- RESPECT:
- Please don't carry on a conversation while your instructor is teaching. don't come to class inebriated.
- Don't body slam the poles or use them improperly.
- Don't leave your space messy.
- Don't jump into tricks; jumping into tricks results in injuries. We don't want you injured; we want you happy and healthy and on your way to enjoying an amazing injury-free pole journey!
- Also, though we are a pole studio, please avoid engaging in any overtly sexual behavior in the studio or doing anything that would put our lease or our ability to host children's classes in jeopardy.
Pole Party Policies: We’re so excited that you’ve chosen Body of Bloomington for your special event! We’re here to help you have as much fun as possible and to make memories that will last a lifetime. We have several policies that keep everyone safe and ensure that our instructors, space, and equipment can continue to serve everyone’s party needs!
- NOISE: We want you to have a ton of fun at your private party, but we do have neighboring businesses that do not appreciate loud noises coming from our space. Please be respectful of that and avoid letting the noise level get out of hand. If we receive noise complaints from our neighbors, you will be charged a $50 inconvenience fee. If things remain out of control, you may be asked to leave with no refund.
- TIME: When you booked your party, you agreed to show up and leave on time. If you’re going to be late, please let us know. If no one has shown up 15 minutes after the agreed upon start time and we haven’t had any communication from you, our instructor is free to go home and your party will be cancelled with no refund. Also, your party will still end at the agreed upon time even if you’re late. Please do not ask our instructor arrive earlier or stay later. We ask that all party members are out of our studio within 5 minutes of the agreed upon end time. If you’re still in the studio after that time, you’ll be charged an additional $50.
- SAFETY AND INTOXICATION: Safety is our first priority at our studio. While you can drink alcohol in moderation in the studio (woohoo!), being high or drunk during class is a huge liability and will result in you being asked to leave. We are not responsible for any injuries incurred due to your intoxication, and you will be responsible for paying for any equipment that is damaged or broken by any member of your party while you’re in our space. If you show up high or drunk, we reserve the right to turn you away and cancel your party with no refund. Save the hardcore partying for after your Pole Party. Please don’t put our instructors in a position to have to wonder if you can drive yourselves home, as we will inform police if we believe you are attempting to drive while intoxicated. Also, please don’t jump into tricks, body slam the poles, swing up into inverts, or get a running start to spin on the pole: it’s a safety issue for you and our equipment. Your instructors will teach you how to do tricks safely. If you stray from the instructed moves and methods, you are responsible for any injuries.
- PAYMENT: The remainder of your party fee is due upon arrival. Our instructor will not begin class until the payment has been successfully made. Payments must be made with a credit or debit card. We will not accept cash payment for Private Parties. Your card will be kept on file in case of damages, noise complaints, or any other issues that may arise.
- GLITTER: No. Don’t do it. Please no. It gets everywhere, and it never goes away. If you decide to wear heels, please avoid glitter heels that have a tendency to shed. Thank you for following these policies. We look forward to having a great time with you!
