Welcome to Body of Bloomington, affectionately known to us as “Body”. Body opened in 2013 when its founder, Tara Braucht, noticed a need for change in our community’s fitness offerings. She wanted workouts based on correct form, alignment and core engagement, and to provide fun new formats such as Pole Dance, Barre, and PiYo. In 2020, she sold the studio to longtime employee, Ky Overfelt, who is excited to uphold the reputation and family-feel of this wonderful studio.
Body of Bloomington specializes in making fitness fun, personal, and something you look forward to everyday. We offer a variety of different classes including Pole Dance and Fitness, Barre, Pilates, Flexibility, TRX, Strength Training and more to keep you motivated to keep coming back to class! We are a community where our staff- and even other clients- get to know you and help you motivated to meet your fitness goals. We are not a gym or a cookie cutter workout place- we are a welcoming, personal atmosphere where make each visit to us enjoyable and fun, but most importantly, making sure YOU are getting the best workout YOU can. Our classes are smaller with only 7-15 people and our talented instructors modify moves so each guest gets the best workout for them. Each instructor has their own style and structure they bring to their class and no two teacher’s workouts are the same to consistently change up your workout routine, challenge different muscles groups and keep it fun and effective. We offer annual memberships with unlimited classes of all class types for $135 a month, which most clients get the best results and a much lower rate per class with this option, or you can always buy a punch card for several classes or drop in for one class.
All classes can be modified to meet the most challenging fitness needs to the most beginner. Moves are shown with several modifications to increase or decrease your workout. We also have smaller classes to ensure our hands on approach to individually challenging and modified personal instruction.
If you’re looking for more specific information regarding our classes, please visit the class descriptions link on our website.
One of the things we hear most is “I am nervous” or “I haven’t worked out in awhile”. Don’t be nervous- and we are glad to have you! We are here for you and to make your experience as comfortable as possible whether it is your first time to Body or your 100th. You will be greeted by a staff member or me, the owner, at the front desk to check you in before class and your workout area will be preset with whatever you need for that particular class. You can leave your belongings in the cubbies at the front of the studio. There are two bathrooms to change in and if you are coming over your lunch break, etc, you are more than welcome to hang your clothes in the bathroom during class. Please always remove your shoes before changing.
We provide mats, blocks, weights, or whatever you will need for your workout. We also have a water refill station, so bring a water bottle with you, but we have cups here if you forget. For Pole classes, please wear or bring shorts, as you need skin contact to grip the pole.
